Joining

As CCRC is a section of Cardiff Yacht Club, membership is made up of 2 elements:

  • full membership of the Yacht Club
  • membership of the rowing section

Membership is annual, January to December, and part year membership is available. ARA membership is required. See Application Form for Membership Fees

How do I get started?

All those new to rowing will be taught by trained coaches under the "Blades" scheme run at the nearby Channel View Watersports Centre. Once competent to row/ scull the new members can join the club training sessions and crews. This enables the CCRC coaching squad to concentrate on performance rowing and ensures that novices receive specialist tuition from the dedicated coaching squad at the Centre. The cost of the "Blades" course is covered by the club. New rowers can join the clubs land-based training sessions whilst gaining competence on the water.

Progressing your rowing/sculling

Competent rowers and scullers can join at any time and have access to the club equipment and facilities. The club runs a training programme that provides all rowers with the core elements to progress their fitness and skills and for each member a training plan will be drawn up with our coaching members.
